After two long years, Brazilian Marine will finally see the Project get out from sheets of paper. In 2013, the architectural Project was chosen in a competition promoted by our Marine. The Brazilian Institute of Architects won it with na innovator design that mixes good use of rooms and brand new sustainable Technologies. After that, it took many months to our government open the bidding. On January, our Marine published the chinese company Ceiec had won the bidding, however other two companies (OR FCR, from Finland, and Ferreira Guedes/Tecnofast presented judicial reviews against the decision, suspending it on February. The trading was resumed on April and today Brazilian Marine published at its website the chinese Ceiec will be responsible for building the new station in Antarctica. Ceice offered the lowest price among the three candidates (US$ 99,6 million). The new station will have 18 laboratories and seven single units to meteorological and atmosphere researches. It will be bigger than the previous one, being capable to house 64 people. The new station may be delivered in 2018.
